Your electrical system either works safely or it doesn’t. There’s no in-between. When outlets stop working, breakers keep tripping, or you’re dealing with flickering lights that make you wonder if something’s about to catch fire, you need someone who can diagnose the real problem and fix it permanently.
That’s what we do as a licensed electrical contractor. We show up in Orange Factory, NC with fully stocked trucks, so we’re not making runs to the supply house on your dime. You get a flat-rate price before any work starts, which means no hourly padding and no surprise charges when the job takes longer than quoted.
The work gets done once. You don’t call us back three weeks later because the same breaker tripped again. Your lights work. Your outlets are safe. Your electrical panel isn’t overheating. And you can stop worrying about whether your house is up to code or if you’re one bad storm away from a serious problem.
ESP Electrical Service Providers is owned and operated by Andy Helton, a Master Electrician with over 35 years in the trade. We’ve been serving Orange Factory and the surrounding Orange County area since 2002, which means we know the older homes in this area, the common code issues, and what actually holds up during storm season.
We’re not a national franchise with rotating technicians. We’re a local electrical company that’s been here for over two decades. Our trucks are based right here in Orange County, and when you call, you’re talking to someone who actually knows the area and can get to you fast.
We carry state licenses in Electrical and Master Electrician, plus a Class B Contractor license. We’re members of the National Electrical Contractors Association. And we’re insured, which matters more than most people realize until something goes wrong.

You call or contact us, and you’ll speak to an actual person, not an answering machine. We’ll ask what’s going on, and if it’s an emergency, we’ll get someone out to you as fast as possible. We offer 24/7 emergency electrical service because electrical problems don’t wait for business hours.
When our electrician arrives, they’ll be in uniform and driving a fully stocked vehicle. They’ll assess the situation, explain what’s wrong in plain terms, and give you a flat-rate price before starting any work. No hourly guessing games. You know what it costs before we touch anything.
Once you approve, we get to work. We use quality brands like Generac, Siemens, Cutler Hammer, and Square D because they last and because we don’t want to come back and redo the same job in two years. When the work’s done, we test everything, clean up the work area, and make sure you’re completely satisfied before we leave. If something’s not right, we fix it. That’s the standard.

We handle the full range of electrical repair and installation work. That includes panel upgrades, circuit installations, outlet and switch replacements, lighting installations, whole-house generator setups, and emergency electrical repairs. If it involves wiring, breakers, or electrical safety, we do it.
For commercial electrical services, we work with property managers, business owners, and contractors who need reliable electrical work on tight timelines. We understand that downtime costs you money, so we show up on schedule and get the work done efficiently without cutting corners.
Orange Factory and the surrounding Orange County area see frequent storms, especially during hurricane season. Power outages aren’t rare here, they’re expected. That’s why whole-house generator installation has become one of our most requested services. We install Generac generators that kick on automatically when the power goes out, so your family stays comfortable and your food doesn’t spoil. We also handle generator maintenance to make sure it’s ready when you actually need it.
Whether it’s a small electrical repair at your home or a complete commercial electrical service project, we approach every job the same way: licensed, insured, and done right.

The cost depends entirely on what needs to be done. A simple outlet replacement might run a couple hundred dollars, while a full panel upgrade or whole-house generator installation will cost several thousand. That’s why we give you a flat-rate price before we start any work.
Flat-rate pricing means you know exactly what you’re paying upfront. There’s no hourly rate that keeps climbing if the job takes longer than expected. You approve the price, we do the work, and that’s what you pay. No surprises, no padding, no “oh by the way” charges at the end.
If you want a ballpark estimate over the phone, we can usually give you a range based on what you describe. But for an accurate price, we’ll need to see the job in person. Once we assess it, you’ll have a firm number before we touch anything.
Yes. Electrical emergencies don’t wait for Monday morning, and neither do we. If your power’s out, a breaker won’t stop tripping, or you’re seeing sparks or smoke, call us immediately. We offer 24/7 emergency electrical service throughout Orange Factory and Orange County.
Emergency calls get priority response. We’ll get someone out to you as quickly as possible, assess the situation, and make it safe. In some cases, that might mean a temporary fix to get your power back on safely, with a follow-up visit to complete the permanent repair. In other cases, we can handle everything in one trip.
Electrical emergencies are serious. Don’t wait until morning if something feels dangerous. Sparks, burning smells, or outlets that are hot to the touch are all reasons to call right away. We’d rather check it out at 2 a.m. and find out it’s minor than have you wait and risk a fire.
Start with the license. In North Carolina, electrical contractors must be licensed by the state. A Master Electrician license means they’ve passed rigorous testing and have significant experience. Don’t hire someone who can’t show you their license number or who says they’re “working on it.”
Insurance matters just as much. If an unlicensed or uninsured electrician causes damage to your property or gets hurt on the job, you could be liable. A legitimate electrical contractor carries both liability insurance and workers’ comp. Ask to see proof before they start work.
Experience in your specific type of project also counts. Someone who mostly does new construction might not be the best choice for troubleshooting an older home’s wiring issues. Ask how long they’ve been in business, whether they handle jobs like yours regularly, and if they can provide references. And pay attention to how they communicate. If they can’t explain what’s wrong in terms you understand, or if they’re dodging questions about pricing, that’s a red flag.
Most residential panel upgrades take between four and eight hours, depending on the complexity of your current setup and what needs to be brought up to code. If we’re just swapping out an old panel for a new one in the same location with the same number of circuits, it’s usually on the shorter end. If we’re relocating the panel, adding circuits, or dealing with outdated wiring that needs updating, it takes longer.
Your power will be off during the work. We’ll coordinate with you on timing so you can plan accordingly, especially if you work from home or have medical equipment that needs power. In most cases, we can complete the work in a single day. For larger or more complicated jobs, we might need to schedule it over two days.
We’ll also need to schedule an inspection with the county after the work is done. That’s required by code, and it protects you by ensuring everything was installed correctly. We handle scheduling the inspection and making sure everything passes. Once it’s signed off, your new panel is good to go.
Absolutely. Whole-house generator installation is one of our most requested services, especially in Orange Factory and throughout Orange County. Storms roll through here regularly, and losing power for days at a time isn’t uncommon. A permanently installed generator keeps your lights on, your refrigerator running, and your heat or AC working when the grid goes down.
We install Generac generators, which are the most reliable residential backup systems available. These aren’t the portable units you drag out of the garage and fill with gas every few hours. These are automatic standby generators that kick on within seconds of detecting a power outage. They run on natural gas or propane, so you don’t have to worry about fuel.
The installation process involves running a gas line (if needed), installing a transfer switch, setting up the generator pad, and connecting everything to your electrical panel. We handle all of it, including permits and inspections. Once it’s in, we’ll test it to make sure it fires up correctly. We also offer maintenance plans to keep it ready for the next storm.
An estimate is when we come out to look at a job, assess what needs to be done, and give you a price. There’s typically no charge for estimates on larger projects like panel upgrades, generator installations, or commercial work. You’re not committed to anything, you’re just getting information so you can make a decision.
A service call is when you have an immediate problem that needs fixing, like an outlet that stopped working or a breaker that keeps tripping. We come out, diagnose the issue, give you a flat-rate price to fix it, and if you approve, we do the work right then. There’s usually a service call fee that covers our time to diagnose the problem, and that fee gets rolled into the repair cost if you move forward.
If you’re not sure which one you need, just call and describe what’s going on. We’ll let you know whether it makes sense to schedule an estimate or if it’s something we should handle as a service call. Either way, you’ll know the cost before we start any work, and you’ll never get hit with a bill you weren’t expecting.
