We’re sharing four home safety devices that can protect your home from electric hazards to kick off Electrical Safety Month. They are all part of the 2021 code.

Interrupters for the Arc-Fault Circuit

AFCIs can be used as a circuit breaker or receptacle. These devices protect homes against electrical fires and malfunctions. AFCI protection can prevent nearly half of all home electrical fires, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. AFCIs can be used in basements, crawl spaces, and bedrooms. They also work well in hallways, closets, hallways, kitchens, laundry rooms, and standard rooms.

Surge Protective Devices

Surge protectors protect your home against electrical surges that could damage or shorten the life span of devices and electrical systems. Learn more about surge protectors and what they can offer your home here.

Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters

The GFCIs can be used as both a circuit breaker or a receptacle. These devices protect against electric shock. They are used in areas where electricity and water may come into direct contact, such as bathrooms, crawl spaces, basements, crawl spaces, garages, and kitchens.

Tamper Resistant Receptacles

TRRs are an excellent option for families with small children. These safety devices work like regular receptacles, but they have an internal shutter system that prevents foreign objects from entering the outlet. We are happy to assist you in any way possible, whether your home is under construction, remodeling, or if you need to ensure that the electrical system is up to code.
